Section schedule
Schedule — other legislation providing access (section 6)
Schedule
Under section 6, nothing in PAIA prevents access being given to a record under the legislation listed below (with the relevant section). It preserves other access routes alongside PAIA.
Part 1 (Section 6(a)) — public bodies. [Schedule Part 1 amended by Schedule 4 of Act 38 of 2001.]
Act 107 of 1998 — National Environmental Management Act, 1998 — Section 31(1)
Act 38 of 2001 — Financial Intelligence Centre Act — Section 36
Part 2 (Section 6(b)) — private bodies.
Act 107 of 1998 — National Environmental Management Act, 1998 — Section 31(2)

Beyond the text
What this means in practice
- The Schedule lists other laws that already provide access to records, which section 6 preserves alongside PAIA.
- It currently names the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 and the Financial Intelligence Centre Act — meaning access under those routes isn't displaced by PAIA.
